Kopa: Bola's NYSC Battle Against Corruption & Desire

Yoruba literature has always been used to teach discipline, respect, and good behavior. It is common to find books that tell stories of people who succeed through honesty and hard work or fail because of pride and bad choices. These lessons are not just for fun—they help guide readers on how to live better lives. At Yoruba Library, we keep many unique and rare titles that are not easy to find elsewhere. These books talk about different things, from love and family to leadership and wisdom. They are written in simple Yoruba language, making them easy for everyone to understand, and they remain one of the best ways to learn about Yoruba culture.

ABOUT THE BOOK - SUMMARY

Kopa (Corp Member) is a Nigeria novel with a great story line and moral, written and authored from the stable of Debo Awe. The first edition of this book was released into the public in the year 2009. This book clearly shows that good parenting affects and nurtures good upbringing. National Youth service is a mandatory 1-year programme for Nigerian university undergraduates’ transitioning to graduate.

This book’s plot was about a fictional character known as Bola, who came from a very good home with great morals. Despite being placed in another state for the National Youth Service, she did not use the opportunity to “explore” irrelevant things. On the other hand, she met another Corp Member named Mike who was on a mission to explore as much as possible. What really transpired between both? What lesson can we learn? Kopa by Debo Awe is the answer…
