Awiigbo is a Yoruba book written and authored by W.A. Ganiyu. The first edition of this book was released into the public in the year 2011. Awiigbo in Yoruba language is a statement used to shame someone that doesn’t yield to elder’s advice. The story of Awiigbo’s book was about danger of polygamy. The story started when Iya Adeola, who married into polygamous family died untimely due to troubles by the co-wives.
Shortly before the demised of Iya Adeola, she told her daughter to refrain from polygamous family at all cost whenever she is ripe for marriage. Unfortunately, Adeola did not yield to her mother’s advice. What later became of Adeola herself? Who was Labake in this story, and what’s her impact on Adeola?
